Writing Sex
When you think about sex, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Sex is fun. Sex is one of the greatest things in the world. Sex is a natural function of the human body. One would think that something that’s so natural would be easy to write about. However, what most people don’t realize is that with writing about sex can be hard work (and no, I don’t mean that kind of hard). When you’re like me and you’ve been writing for a while, sometimes the words can flow naturally. What people don’t realize sometimes is that writing about sex is a fine art. There can be colchicine online, indian medication pharmacy. just as much art and practice in it as there is with any other genre. You can’t just throw together some porn scenes and expect to be published.
When we’re talking about writing, there is first of all the subject in it’s most basic form; that’s the story. It doesn’t matter whether your talking about sex or not, first and foremost you’re writing a story. Don’t forget that! When it comes to story writing there are certain rules you have to follow. There’s an arc that you should follow, i.e. your story must have a beginning and a middle and an end. There has to be something of a plot and a degree of character development and many other things in order for it to be good.
Writing about two people fucking isn’t just a matter of slapping together some dirty words and calling it a day. You have to consider which words are best use and the flow of the action and how to piece it all together. Even the simplest sounding sex scene must be crafted just so in order to be compelling to the reader. Just like anything else, if it was something just anyone could do then just anyone could be a writer. Most people quickly discover that writing is a job that takes skill and finesse. What had once seemed like the simplest of tasks from a distance turns into an impossible challenge once you’re in the middle of it.
If you find yourself lucky enough to be your own boss, you can call the shots but you still have to be a boss even if it’s just for yourself. I’ll have to admit, some days I just feel like sitting on the couch all day in my underwear and eat chips in front of the TV. If I let myself succumb to these whims, I’d never get anything done. Every morning I need to kick myself in the ass and sit down and write a story. It’s like I was a mean boss and the laziest employee rolled into one. This is work, just like any other work and if you have an order to write a story then you’d better get it done on time or there’s no food on your table. And that means no chips, and eventually no TV, no couch, and maybe no underwear eventually either. Nah, you can keep the underwear. If you just thought that this was so easy that you could just throw together some crap and slap a title on it your likely to still go hungry as well. Like any other job you have to do it well to get paid. Then you have to get better and better until you’ve perfected your job.
I’ll state right out, writing about sex is one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. I love sex and I love writing. It would seem like a match made in heaven! How could you go wrong. And yet some days, just like every job inevitably starts to become. It can feel like a drag and a chore at times. Sometimes you wake up in the morning bursting with ideas and ready to write all day and all night. And then some days you wake up without a single idea in your head. You do not have a clue what in the world you’re going to write about and you feel lost and want to quit. Those are the days that I start to envy people working in service or construction or any sort of field where you get a clear set of instructions, you follow those instructions, you clock out in the afternoon and you go home and don’t think about work until the next morning. But really I forget how lucky I am in that I actually get to write for a living.
With any job you have you are expected to deliver a certain quality of work and so it is with writing about sex. You have to deliver a certain quality of work and that means being as well versed with character composition and sequencing and personal discipline as well as just knowing about sex. Then on top of all that you have to keep getting better. Then, and only then can you call yourself a sex writer.
